Create your animal collection and perfect your skills! Detach the animal shapes then reassemble them to make an animal and decorate it with the stickers. Experiment by fitting the pieces together in different ways to make a collection of fantastic creatures!
MAKE THE ANIMALS Lay the materials out on the table and fit the shapes together. When the animals are complete, show them and say the name of each one out loud: “This is a cat!”; “This is a cow!”; “This is a lion,”; “This is an elephant,”, “This is a frog!”.
CRAFT FUN! The final step is a fun cut-and-paste activity. Lay the assortment of multi-coloured sticky patterns and baby scissors out on the table and ask the children to choose the best ones to decorate each animal, being as creative as they can. Once all the animals have been fitted together, coloured in and decorated with the stickers provided, the children can unleash their imaginations swapping the individual parts of the animals around to make lots of original-looking new ones. Animal by animal, the children perform activities with increasing precision and coordination using their hands.
