The Oceania bird cards are designed to be shuffled with the bird cards from the base game, with or without other expansions. This expansion includes new game mats and a new type of food, allowing players to explore different strategies in this new environment. It also includes new bonus cards and more endgame objectives, as well as a new egg color. Nectar is another new element introduced to the game; it will allow you to activate certain birds and also earn victory points. This expansion requires the base game to play.
