Since spring 2025, Borussia Dortmund has been traveling to away games in Eurowings’ new “team Airbus.” Even the first version, which premiered in 2016 and was also released as a Herpa model, garnered significant attention far beyond the football world. The BVB Airbus, completely painted in black and yellow, was a highlight at airports across Europe. In 2022, Eurowings became the world’s first airline to dedicate an entire aircraft to millions of football fans: BVB supporters were actively involved in the design of the “Fan Airbus” and were able to help decide which moments and personalities from BVB history should be immortalized on the plane. A striking feature of the latest design is the “BVB09” lettering in matte finish, which stretches across the entire fuselage.
